ERGONOMICS

The traditional keyboard-and-mouse paradigm forces unnatural lateral shifts (ulnar deviation) hundreds of times an hour. We engineered that movement out of existence.

The RSI Penalty

Moving your hand from the home row to a mouse and back takes approximately 0.5 to 1.5 seconds. For a software engineer or designer, this motion occurs 500-1000 times a day. Over a year, that is hours of wasted time and thousands of micro-traumas to the wrist and forearm.

"By keeping the hands anchored in a neutral typing position and translating hovering micro-gestures into cursor control, we dramatically reduce the muscular load associated with traditional mousing."
— Applied Biomechanics Report, 2023

Zero-Travel Mousing

With BoardHand, your wrists never leave the palm rest. The infrared tracking volume allows you to control the cursor by slightly raising your fingers from the keys.

  • Hover: Move the cursor.
  • Index Pinch: Left click.
  • Middle Pinch: Right click.
  • Two-finger raise: Scroll.

Note: While BoardHand mitigates specific repetitive movements, it is not a medical device. Always consult a physician regarding RSI treatment.
